Annual Legislative and Candidates Reception Brings Employers and Elected Officials Together in Sterling

When employers and policymakers talk face to face, good things follow. That is the idea behind the North Central Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce’s annual Legislative and Candidates Reception, which returned to the Chocksett Inn in Sterling on September 24.

Chamber members spent the evening with candidates in federal and statewide races, members of our state legislative delegation, county officials, and city and town leaders from across the Chamber’s 27 communities.

The reception’s relaxed, social atmosphere gave business owners and executives the chance to connect one-on-one with the people who represent them, or hope to, and to share what’s on their minds as employers in North Central Massachusetts.

“Government affairs and public policy advocacy are central to how the Chamber supports a strong, competitive business climate across the region,” said Roy Nascimento, president and CEO of the North Central Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce. “This reception gives our members direct access to the officials and candidates who shape our communities and offers an opportunity to advocate for the issues that matter to employers in our communities.”

Connections like these are at the heart of the Chamber’s advocacy work. When policymakers hear directly from those who invest in our communities and keep our economy moving, the entire region benefits. Thank you to every member, official, and candidate who took part. Your participation helps keep the business community and our policymakers connected.
