A special Journey for a Cure Event will be held to support the American Cancer Society Relay For Life®. The event will be held in Clinton MA and will provide everyone the opportunity do their part and take personal action in the fight against cancer.

Entertainment will be provided by The Great Escape, A Journey Tribute Band. Learn more about the band at http://www.thegreatescapemusic.com  Tickets are $15.00 and they include food/snacks. We will also have raffles, t-shirts, and luminaries for sale throughout the night.

Last year Leominster Credit Union Warriors and Willie’s Warrior’s were one of top Fundraisers and raised over $6,000.00 for the event and their total combined donation was just over $10,000.00. The event will be held at Breakaway Billiards in Clinton MA on Saturday, May 13^th at 8pm.

The event will be hosted by Willie’s Warriors. An organization created by Lydia Vazquez who currently resides in Lancaster MA. She created the group to remember her father, Wilfredo Vazquez-Pol who lost his 10 year battle against cancer on April 8, 2010. This event marks the 7th year anniversary of his death. Several other “Warriors”, all local members of the community, are remembered through this group.

Daniel Thibeault Receives ASQ Quality Auditor Certification
Milwaukee, Wis., 02/15/2017 — The Certification Board of ASQ (American Society for Quality) is pleased to
announce that Daniel Thibeault has completed the requirements to be named an ASQ-Certified Quality
Auditor, or ASQ CQA.
As such, Daniel Thibeault has reached a significant level of professional recognition, indicating a proficiency
in and a comprehension of auditing principles and practices. Individuals who earn this certification are
allowed to use “ASQ CQA” on their business cards and professional correspondence.
“Earning an ASQ certification is more than a great accomplishment – it’s a formal recognition of
professionals that they have demonstrated an understanding of, and a commitment to, quality practices in
their field,” said ASQ Chair Cecilia Kimberlin. “This distinction represents an investment in ones future and

In order to qualify for the Certified Quality Auditor examination, an individual must have eight years of work
and/or experience related to the Body of Knowledge. Certified Quality Auditor is a professional who
understands the standards and principles of auditing and the auditing techniques of examining, questioning,
evaluating and reporting to determine a quality system’s adequacy and deficiencies.
Since 1968, when the first ASQ certification examination was administered, more than 190,000 individuals

The Fitchburg Public Library Teen Center will be having an “Outsiders Night” on Saturday, March 11, from 5-8 p.m. This free event is open to all teens 13-18. We will have Southwestern-inspired food, a movie, and a giant Jenga game. Teens are welcome to dress like one of the “Greasers,” “Socs,” or any other 60’s character. Because the Library will be closed, teens should enter through the Youth Library door.
The Teen Center is also adding more Teen activities: a Book Club, and Friday Night Craft Nights. The Book Club will be on Wednesday, March 29, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. to discuss John Green’s Paper Towns. A Leominster Credit Union team of volunteers participated in one of the largest single meal packing events for the United Way of North Central Massachusetts.  The event was held at the Double Tree by Hilton in Leominster and the volunteers packaged more than 100,000 meals for 20 local food pantries.

The event was organized by United Way of North Central Massachusetts, in an effort to ensure that local families won’t go hungry, according to Phil Grzewinski, president of the local nonprofit organization that focuses on health, education and income initiatives.

Approximately 400 volunteers worked in teams of 14 to assemble, package, seal and box nutritious meals of rice and beans, macaroni and cheese and other meals.

The meals were distributed to food pantries in Athol, Leominster, Fitchburg, Gardner, Devens, Pepperell, Templeton, Winchendon and Westminster.

The Fitchburg Historical Society announced on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 that it received over $2,000 in funding from the Fitchburg Cultural Council in support of its public history programs and the 125th Anniversary Campaign for Community Engagement. The money will help to support new history exhibitions and programs during its 125th Anniversary year, which began on February 3, 2017. The Fitchburg Historical Society was founded in 1892 to preserve, protect and interpret the history of Fitchburg, Massachusetts, a city known for its leadership in manufacturing, innovation and such progressive ideas as the five-day work week and the abolition of slavery.
In honor of its 125th Anniversary, the Historical Society is organizing history exhibitions and lectures that are based on its extensive collections. Upcoming exhibitions will include “If These Walls Could Talk: the History of the Fitchburg Fire Department,” which will run from March through June 2017, the annual exhibition of historic Iver Johnson bicycles made in Fitchburg in June and July, and an exhibition on Immigration and the city’s neighborhoods beginning September 2017.
Special lectures on Fitchburg History will include “Where Did It Go? Tracing the Wealth of Fitchburg’s Industrial Families” a presentation by Christine Tree on Thursday, February 16, at 5:30 p.m., and “A new look at the Famed Fitchburg-Leominster Football Rivalry”, a talk by Leominster-based historian and author Mark Bodanza, on Thursday, March 30, at 5:30 p.m.
To celebrate the landmark anniversary, the Fitchburg Historical Society has created logo merchandise that allows city residents to flaunt their local pride. Its gift shop also offers books on such topics as local photographers, the Hoosac Tunnel and the Italian immigration to central Massachusetts.
The Fitchburg Cultural Council funding will help the Historical Society expand membership outreach, print additional local history newsletter and provide additional conservation and display for its collections.
