Annual River City Rhythm & Rock Festival
On Saturday, August 29, Riverfront Park in Fitchburg will come alive for the 5th Annual River City Rhythm & Rock Festival.
Five years ago, this festival began with a simple idea: create a place where local artists could be heard, small businesses and makers could be seen, and neighbors could come together and feel connected to their community. What started as a grassroots effort has grown into a free, all-ages celebration featuring more than 40 local artists and welcoming 1,500+ neighbors, friends, and families.
Reaching year five feels especially meaningful. Not simply because the festival has grown, but because the community has grown around it.
Every performer who takes the stage, every vendor who sets up a table, every volunteer who gives their time, every sponsor who believes in the mission, and every family that spreads out a blanket and stays for the music has helped make River City what it is.
Events like this don’t happen because of one organization or one person. They happen because people decide that art, music, creativity, and gathering together are worth investing in. The generosity of this community helps provide professional stages and sound, a safe and welcoming environment, and—importantly—fair pay for the artists whose talent makes the festival what it is.
So this month, instead of reflecting on something that’s already happened, we’re celebrating something we’re still building together.
Five years of music. Five years of creativity. Five years of community.
We hope you’ll join us on August 29 from 2–10 PM at Riverfront Park in Fitchburg and help us make year five one to remember.
