4/27 – MOC’s North Central WIC program is hosting a Community Baby Shower for the region

Through a  grant awarded by the CHNA (Community Health Network Area 9)  MOC’s North Central WIC program is hosting  a Community Baby Shower for the region. This is not a WIC specific event. It is open to all families throughout North Central MA who are expecting a baby or parenting a child under age 2. It’s the first event of its kind in North Central MA and I’m very excited to bring this to our region!

 

The event will include a wonderful mix of educational information, activities, and featured demonstrations; reference flyer attached.  It  will mimic a traditional Baby Shower with decorations, favors, refreshments and gifts. I’ve secured over 25 vendors (retailers, medical, human services, & public service) to provide an array of pertinent information on prenatal and infant topics, services, and products. A children’s play area and reading nook with activities sponsored by the local Partnership Programs will be available for family use. There will be three feature attractions at set times during the event: Baby Sign Language Show, Baby & Me Yoga, and even a Natural Henna Pregnant Belly tattoo demo! A nursing station will be set up and staffed by certified lactation consultants.  I’ve acquired over 30 great raffle prizes; including Grand Prize Raffles for several “Big Ticket” items! (E.g. stroller, car seat, pack & play, etc).
