In response to this crisis, the City of Fitchburg is launching a city-wide initiative to collect food donations and distribute the donations to our neighbors in need. Please see additional information below:<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0a7d7e;\">DONATIONS<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>We are accepting donations in 3 designated distribution bins throughout the City. Donations will go directly to the City of Fitchburg food distribution. Any donations remaining once SNAP benefits resume will be distributed to the Fitchburg Public Schools. If you\u2019re able, please consider picking up a few extra items on your next grocery trip.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Market Basket, 399 John Fitch Hwy., Fitchburg<\/li>\n<li>Market Basket, 130 Water St., Fitchburg<\/li>\n<li>City Hall, 718 Main St., Fitchburg<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Donations must be non-perishable (foods that do not need to be frozen or refrigerated), unopened, and not expired. Most needed food items include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Canned vegetables, beans, soup, &amp; proteins (tuna)<\/li>\n<li>Rice, mac and cheese, &amp; pasta<\/li>\n<li>Shelf stable milks &amp; juices<\/li>\n<li>Peanut butter &amp; applesauce<\/li>\n<li>Cereal, oatmeal, &amp; granola bars<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0a7d7e;\">DISTRIBUTION<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The City of Fitchburg will be hosting a food distribution event on Friday, November 7th 2025 from 5:00PM &#8211; 7:30PM at the Leglislative Building, 700 Main St., Fitchburg. Distribution will be on a first come, first served basis and will be dependent on donations received.
