{"id":16788,"date":"2021-10-27T12:00:05","date_gmt":"2021-10-27T16:00:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.northcentralmass.com\/?p=16788"},"modified":"2021-10-27T12:00:05","modified_gmt":"2021-10-27T16:00:05","slug":"emerging-leaders-participate-in-community-leadership-institute-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.northcentralmass.com\/es\/emerging-leaders-participate-in-community-leadership-institute-4\/","title":{"rendered":"Emerging leaders Participate in Community Leadership Institute"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Seventeen men and women, sponsored by area companies as up and coming employees and future leaders in our community, have been accepted into the North Central Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce\u2019s <em>Instituto de Liderazgo Comunitario<\/em>.\u00a0 CLI\u00a0is dedicated to providing participants with individual leadership skills and a deep understanding of the region.\u00a0 The nine month program focuses on education, government, health care, social services, justice system, media, arts and culture, environment and history.\u00a0 The Chamber created the Institute to inspire a new generation of men and women to enthusiastically assume important roles in their community.\u00a0\u00a0 The program challenges individuals from diverse backgrounds to be influential in our region\u2019s future.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Mike Greenwood, business professor at Fitchburg State University and chairman of the Institute steering committee, is enthusiastic about this year\u2019s participants and the meaningful professional, personal and community development they will take part in.\u00a0 \u201cI have been with the class since it\u2019s reintroduction in 2011.\u00a0 Each year, I am amazed and impressed with the dedication of the participants.\u00a0 Programs like this are an important asset within the community to ensure one that continues to thrive, even after our current leaders retire.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Marty Connors, president of Rollstone Bank &amp; Trust and past chairman of the Institute steering committee, led the Institute\u2019s revival in 2010.\u00a0 \u201cI was in the 1991 class of the Institute and it was an integral part of my success in the community.\u00a0 As Chairman of the Chamber\u2019s Board of Directors in 2010, I felt we needed the program back to once again support our needs for leadership and succession planning.
