Alario, whose father, Anthony, started the business 66 years ago.\u00a0Their business philosophy is to provide \u201cOld Fashioned Main Street Service,\u201d serving clients in a timely and cost-effective manner.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think we try to get to know the client and dig deeper,\u2019\u2019 said Alario, who joined the company in 1980. \u201cWe believe in the philosophy of asking questions \u2013 what keeps you up at night? It\u2019s our connection to the clients that sets us apart.\u2019\u2019\u00a0Of course the pandemic has impacted their ability to sit down face to face with clients, but Alario said they\u2019re doing their best to maintain a personal connection with clients over the phone and Zoom.\u00a0\u201cWe\u2019re meeting with some clients but we have to be respectful to our staff,\u2019\u2019 Alario said.\u00a0The pandemic has impacted many businesses, leading to more financial planning and structuring.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>Some industries, like restaurants and hotels have been hit hard, while construction is booming.\u00a0With 20 full-time employees, its size allows the company to offer a variety of services to clients such as tax preparation for individuals, partnerships, estates, trusts and corporations. They also provide tax planning, retirement planning, educational planning, business evaluations, auditing and payroll.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re a full-service CPA firm,\u2019\u2019 Alario said. \u201cWe\u2019re the largest CPA firm in North Central Massachusetts and the seventh largest in Worcester County.\u2019\u2019\u00a0Alario said business often picks up around election time as the outcome may lead to tax law changes. He said clients will come in to plan and prepare for any changes that may impact their family or business.\u00a0Another area of growth is among baby boomers, many of whom are approaching retirement age, Alario said.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>\u201cYears ago, with the GI Generation, there was a big transfer of wealth so there was a big focus on estate planning,\u2019\u2019 he said. \u201cWe\u2019re seeing that again with the boomers so there are a lot of opportunities. You react to the environment.\u2019\u2019\u00a0The ability to remain flexible and adapt to changes in the economy and government and events that impact people\u2019s lives and finances is imperative, Alario said.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u201cThe one word in business is change,\u2019\u2019 he said. \u201cYou constantly have to change and do things a little differently. It\u2019s a different field than it was when I started with an adding machine. It\u2019s different and dynamic.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Robert C.
