{"id":12953,"date":"2020-04-20T15:50:36","date_gmt":"2020-04-20T19:50:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.northcentralmass.com\/?p=12953"},"modified":"2023-12-07T11:38:57","modified_gmt":"2023-12-07T16:38:57","slug":"pua-claims-can-now-be-filed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.northcentralmass.com\/es\/pua-claims-can-now-be-filed\/","title":{"rendered":"Pandemic Unemployment Assistance Claims Can Now Be Filed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>C<\/strong><b>laimants are now able to file for Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA)<\/b><\/p>\n<p>They can do so by applying at: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mass.gov\/pua\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\">www.mass.gov\/pua<\/a><\/p>\n<p>PUA is a program open to the following individuals:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li><span lang=\"en\">Self-employed individuals, including gig workers, freelancers, and independent contractors<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"en\">Those seeking part-time employment<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"en\">Claimants that have an insufficient work history to qualify for benefits<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"en\">And claimants that have been laid off from churches and religious institutions and are not eligible for benefits under state law<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">As PUA is a separate program from regular unemployment insurance, <b><u>they ask that you send constituent inquiries to Jennifer Lavin at <\/u><\/b><\/span><a href=\"mailto:PUAconstituentservices@detma.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\">PUAconstituentservices@detma.org<\/a><\/p>\n<p><b><span lang=\"en\">The DUA constituent service team (like Mavis Smith, for example) does not have access to the PUA platform, so they will not be able to help you with these claims.
