Human Resources Council

The Human Resources Council(HRC) events are from 12:00-1:30PM on Wednesdays at the Chamber. A light lunch is provided. Cost to attend is $20 for members $35 for non members.

Karen Smith, Esq. SPHR of the Employers Association of the North East. discussed the topic of Reference Checking.

Reference checking plays a key role in knowledgeable hiring. Applicants provide potential employers with a great deal of information on their background, experience, education and skills. Statistics show that between 25 to 30% of the data provided by applicants is misleading, exaggerated or completely false. But how, as the potential employer, do you ensure the accuracy of this information? These are some of the topics covered at the event.
