Chamber Ambassador Committee 

“Building a better Chamber through volunteer leadership”

To increase the retention rate of existing members by being responsive to members’ needs and reinforcing the benefits of Chamber membership, and to strengthen our Chamber by recruiting new members.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Employed by a member firm of the NCMCC.
  • Member in good standing and with dues current.
  • Chamber member for a minimum of one year.
  • Must be a highly visible employee within their company.
  • Should be knowledgeable about Chamber services, its programs and activities, and the business community.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, motivated and sensitive to the needs of the members.
  • Strength in working with members one-on-one in a positive and professional manner.

EXPECTATIONS

  • One “program” year commitment – September through August.
  • Actively promote membership in the Chamber, facilitate networking among members and encourage meaningful participation and involvement in Chamber programs in order to enhance the membership benefits received by each member, strengthen member commitment and increase long-term member retention.
  • Accept new member assignments and conduct member interviews (quality contacts), reporting relevant information from these interviews to Chamber staff at monthly Ambassador meeting.
  • Attend Chamber events to greet and build relationships with new members, as well as to facilitate introductions and foster direct connections for new members.
  • Attend member ribbon cuttings, grand openings and ground breakings.
  • Participate in membership campaigns.
  • Visit and/or call new and existing Chamber members to encourage involvement.
  • Stay well informed on the functions of the Chamber.
  • Retain a professional appearance and attitude when representing the Chamber.

SUPPORT FROM THE CHAMBER

  • On-going education on the Chamber product line and priority issues.
  • Make support materials available that meet the needs of the task.
  • Recognition for accomplishments.
  • Volunteer recruitment and training programs.
  • Well-defined program objectives and goals.
